These days slideshows seem to have lost their spirit. For this issue we only managed to find the TRSI Breakpoint Slideshow which, like the name already says, consists entirely of party pictures.

Nevertheless we hope that someday soon more
"real" slideshows will follow ;)

[::: BREAKPOINT 2008 SLIDESHOW BY TRSI :::]

Right after the party, it was released for
the PSP with the title Breakpoint 2008 -
The PSP Slideshow. This piece was created
by Ayatollah Mike H2o 71m Spotter and Syphus.
Later on a PC/MAC version followed which was created by Pasy Pontcho Chromag and H2o. Party pictures are always fun to look at.

Wade:
Although staring at random sweaty sceners is not my idea of a good time, TRSI have put together a really nice party slideshow. H20s graphics are clean, crisp and functional, with what I can only describe as a demoscene feel. After admiring the logo, my attention soon turned to the chrome font scrolling across the bottom of the screen. Nice touch.

As if the static visuals werent enough, the slideshow is packed full of slick transition effects. The whole thing glides seamlessly and leaves me with an urge to keep clicking, just to make things slide and zoomoh, and fade. I hope we havent seen the last of this engine and more slideshows will follow.

To top it off, there is a fantastic soundtrack by scene veteran, Chromag, which sets the mood just right with an oldskool vibe. On the whole, the slideshow does what it needs to do
with some very slick production
values.

[::: PRISM BY MELON DESZIGN :::]

Wade:
Prism is not intended as an exhibition of technical pixelling abilities like many slideshows of its time, but it is certainly one of the most enjoyable and well presented productions of its kind. The artwork by Mack is full of fun and fantasy, featuring diverse themes and a huge line of motifs, including gnomes, flying elephants, landscapes, cute aliens, space ships, and even a few women for good measure.

The soundtrack by Delorean is the most fitting accompaniment a musician could have conceived, creating the perfect uplifting mood. The slideshow oozes imagination and its as if Im being led through the dreams of a young boymaybe Mack, showing us all his influences and visions growing up.

There isnt a bad picture among the selection, though they vary from average to good. What Prism lacks in terms of wow factor it makes up for with consistent quality, creativity and entertainment value.
